All Around, 2019
Acrylic, photographic transparency, led light
All Around is a light box constructed from clear acrylic, displayed on a transparent plinth, and illuminated by an internal LED. Each of its six sides holds a double layer of images: a vibrant floral photograph on the outermost layer and a subtle, semi-obscured image of a nude woman in red lace underwear beneath. The layered visuals are designed to captivate and draw viewers closer, the underlying figure gradually emerging through the layers of petals and leaves. The reflective surfaces and enticing floral imagery play with perceptions, inviting a ever-changing experience as viewers circle the piece. The work explores themes of seduction, the allure of beauty, and the tension between self-expression and societal confines on the body, creating a dialogue between what is revealed and what remains hidden.
